The Spirit Moves

(6 hr, late 1940s and early 1950s; by: Mura Dehn. This film is at the Library of Performing Arts in Lincoln Center. Its contents are well documented with dancers, place, date.)

It was Mura Dehn's attempt to document what she experienced at the Savoy Ballroom a decade earlier. It contains a lot of studio footage which she used to demonstrate points about dancing. Also contains new footage shot at the Savoy to show dance technique in both slow motion and fast motion.
